Queensland Rail is dedicated to increasing rail patronage through improved reliability, frequency of services and making rail travel the transport mode of choice in Queensland. We are committed to building a better passenger business by connecting with customers, improving frontline services and facilitating Queensland’s growth and development. Almost 14 billion gross tonne kilometres of freight is transported over the Queensland Rail network each year, which we are looking to grow by providing  safe and reliable network services. Queensland Rail has a current project pipeline of over A$10 billion and this is expected to grow exponentially in the lead up to the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Paralympics. Key projects underway include Cross River Rail, the installation and commissioning of the European Train Control System, and the Fast Rail project from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast.
