Investor relations managers usually work for publicly listed companies. In rail, this could be a large civil construction firm, an asset management firm, a rail freight operator, or other similar organisations. You could find yourself communicating information to investors about an exciting new technology that will help shape the future of rail. You’ll work in an office, usually in an accounting or legal team. Sometimes you’ll be at your desk, creating strategies and frameworks or analysing trends that could impact your organisation.
